On the 26th November 2009, the Birmingham NEC kicked off this year's motorcycle and scooter show with the press and trade day. The usual riders, racers and bike personalities were in attendance and several manufacturers were launching new motorcycles. Not least of these was the fantastic new BMW S1000RR. BMW World Superbike rider Troy Corser was at the show for the launch and also to present a cheque to the "Riders for Health" charity, raised at the S1000RR launch night at SBW Motorrad in Hertford. The cheque was presented at the Riders for Health stand by Troy, Stephen Crowder from SBW, and stunt riders Rick English and Sparky.
Rick English's tricked-up BMW F800R stuntbike can be seen on the "Riders for Health" stand in Hall 1 for the duration of the show. Please feel free to pop by, check it out and talk to the guys on the stand and see if you can help out this extremely worthwhile charity.

On 5th November 2009, SBW Motorrad in Hertford held a special night to mark the launch of the incredible new BMW S1000R superbike. Entitled "An Evening with Troy Corser" , it gave the public a first look at BMW's fantastic new bike along with the chance to meet double World Superbike champion and BMW rider Troy Corser and hear his thoughts on the bike.
Rick's SBW - backed BMW F800R stuntbike was also on display, although unfortunately Rick was unable to ride due to injury.
Top bike drifter "Sparky" was good enough to step in and put the bike through its paces for the crowd's entertainment and did a fantastic job.
The evening was a great success and Rick, Sparky and Troy stuck around after the show to meet people, complete interviews and photo calls and discuss the bikes.
The ticket sales, along with the charity auction which included Troy's Race boots and gloves, and a day's private tuition of stuntriding with Rick English and Paul Gower (Thewheelieschool.co.uk) raised over £3000 for charities including the Herts Air Ambulance.
